Finally almost ready to make my truck loud!!
Finally almost ready to make my truck loud!!
Got some questions for the experts.
So far I have 2 mufflers (SLP LM1s) and two stainless tips i need an x-pipe and i'll be ready to go.
These are for 2.5" piping
I plan on running without cats with a tune from PHP
1) Is the flow of a fancy manaflow x-pipe any better than the one an exhaust shop can make?
2) does anyone run without cats with a tune?
lastly any questions/comments, from those who have upgraded they're exhaust and darren that will make this a better system and better experience
plan to get all this in stalled sometime around the 15th of June depending on work and what not.

That is going to be loud as hell with out cats! I recommend ordering a stamped X pipe from ebay over a shop made one, because you have no idea how that is going to turn out. $30 and you have a great crossover.
I am tuned for no cats...

well i figured that would be only slightly louder than straight pipe duals from the stock cats.
Should i maybe consider high flows?
Want it pretty loud but no cackle mainly want real good flow.

Have you looked up any videos of mustangs with lm1's? I think they are pretty obnoxious sounding. I wonder if they are better in larger diameter though (3").

Man some of you guys hate the LM1's huh?
I love them and the sound they give, but as of lately I have considered cutting them off for something different such as a magnapack or bullet.
I like that they are seemingly one of a kind, meaning not many folks with F150's run an SLP setup; and the sound is pretty unique. When I did this exhaust setup I was looking for a 'mustang' sound, and think I got it pretty well.
I do have hi-flow cats, x-pipe, and potentially headers here soon; I think that will make some hellacious noise!
The tips and rear dump had to be hacked off in order to accommodate the new rear springs but I'm slowly getting around to fixing it all back up.

FX4life has the #94105 Magnaflow cats ( 2.25" version of 94106s ).
And a question i missed in the OP, the factory made X pipes work better than shop built crap. I have a shop built one and it doesn't work right. Buy the $40 Magnaflow look-a-like on ebay. $90 for an X pipe is ridiculous.

Of course. I haven't convinced myself 100% yet that I want to go through the hell of installing headers. I am some what convinced it could be easier with the big lift, lots of room to move around since I'm not fortunate enough to own a vehicle lift
