It is definitely noticeable, performance mufflers FTW. Congrats.

Hey Congrats. I know 18" sounds great with LT's and high flow cats. I remembering hearing that exact setup not too long ago. Great choice!

Something I see as crazy (not to hyjack): but this is nuts. I work part time at an exhaust and auto shop and he can get Borla Pro XS's for $57 wholesale. That is nuts.

I managed to almost get that low. I bought both magnaflows for $120. $57 is an awesome deal for Borla though. Borla was definitely an option for me, but 18" was the max i could use without having both mufflers partially under the cab. Maybe Ill try Borla on my next truck. Ive heard lots of good things about them.

Magnaflow swap for Borla

From reading this I'm thinking that I should take my magnaflow 5x8x18 off and put in the borla 4x9x18 in its place. The magnaflow does the climb in pitch towards higher rpms which annoys me and give more drone in cab. I found that muffler for 98bucks on summit. Currently, all I have done with airflow is the gotts mod and the 16463 magnaflow cat back. I should have done a custom bent system with the right muffler, but the magnaflow was cheap and I thought I could do it right. Fitment isn't great, and the muffler is to forward in the cab. anybody think this setup would work?

^ Yes. I bet it does exactly what you want. Watch my videos and Darren's magnaflow videos and hear the high rpm sound difference. We both have 2.5" duals with an X pipe. Borla has the same deep growl all the up the rpm range. I love it!

Yeah for sure, my Magnaflows really wrap crackled when floored . I like how the borla's never loose their tone.

Im not sure why my truck would be any different, but my 2 new magnaflows are very smooth throughout all of the RPM ranges. It may have to do with the X and the fact that both of my mufflers are completely behind the cab. I know that the bodies are longer too. Darren do you have headers on your truck?

Where did you find a 4X9X18? I couldnt use their 19" because I didnt want to have any muffler under my cab and that extra 1" would have made the front right under the back wall.

That is precisely why. True duals with short oval mufflers will rasp. Especially since I had 25,000 miles burned through them.

Muffler mounting doesn't effect sound, my mufflers too were right near the axle, with 4" of space between them. All it is is drone deadening.
