Single or Dual Flowmaster?
Single or Dual Flowmaster?
I have a 2006 F150 4.6L V8. I want to put in an exhaust mainly for sound. I was looking at a Flowmaster 40 series or Super 44. I want to save money, but what are the real advantages to getting a dual kit as opposed to dropping in a muffler with stock pipes? Also, would a super 44 be too loud?

well, a true dual with a cross over (an H-pipe with flowmasters) would sound good, perform good but would cost you some more
if you're just wanting dual exit, then get a si/do super44 and have the pipes exit in the location of your choice

I have same year, same motor. I put a 40 series on my stock pipes with a 4" rolled edge magnaflow tip. It is pretty loud and sounds awesome. Cost me $35 for the muffler and $100 for the tip and install. Can't comment on the 44 but my 40 is enough to wake up the neighbors at 5am when I leave for work
Dynomax Bullet. $39.99 for a part #24215 12" Bullet, direct muffler swap kept SI/SO will sound great, also if you add a tip to the tailpipe.

Here's what my 2003 4.6L sounds like with a single in, single out Flowmaster Super 44.
