Magnapack is on...

So i FINALLY found someone legit to weld on my new magnapack. The second i started it up, the grins started!

I have to admit i was a bit nervous - i had SEVERAL shops say "wow, that's going to be REALLY loud". And i did not want obnoxiously loud, or something that would deafen me (the truck is my daily driver...100km every day).

For those looking to simply replace just the muffler/tip, the magnapack is GREAT!! The tone is a nice, clean, deep note, not raspy or crackly. At cruising speeds there is minimal noise in the cab. And actually when i stomp on it, i can hardly hear it over the engine.

To make a long story short, i'm very happy with my choice and would recommend it to anyone (and it's cheap).

With 4 stock cats, nothing is too loud, even straight pipe. Congrats on getting what you wanted!

Where did you get it? How much was it?

Would it be to loud with no cats?

I got it at a local speed shop (not going to help for you though, i'm up in Canada). It cost me $75 for the muffler, $60 for the tip, and $120 for the install. You could likely find the parts cheaper on performance peddler or summit, but neither seemed to want to deal with international orders :S.

With no cats i would guess it would be substantially louder than with all four stock converters. It's all personal, but i don't think i would want it a whole lot louder than it is - it's right about where i would want it. You DEFINITELY know it's there, but it's not obnoxious.

Yes, very loud. Stick with the oval body.
