It will have more of a crisp sound to it, probably will pop a little less but not too much, and you will not be able to fit a spare tire with 3". They pipes will more than likely rub it and being to close will melt it and catch it on fire. My 2.5" tails are 1/4" from my spare and thats pushing it too close. Luckally I dont tow alot of race much.

I had room for 3" tails... I guess it just depends on who does it. I don't think you have to worry about your spare tire catching fire, when your driving it will stay cool...

ok so it does have a little to do with the 3" tails, im going with 2.5 after the maggiepack, sideswept at 45 deg. i felt 3" was too much for the performance

Mine are 2.5" but you'll be fine with 3" tails since you're running 3" into the muffler.

I already have the 3" tails and I still have the spare too. I have way more than a 1/4" between the pipes and tire also. I'll try to get a pic sometime of it.

By the way the muffler and Y came in yesterday, so if all goes well Saturday morn I'm putting it on..........if I'm not turkey hunting.

don't mean to hijack, but what would be the difference with this whole system 2.5" instead of the intermediate 3" pipe?

Barely anything, just a little more metallic and calmer. 3" sounds real smooth and clear.

yeah I thought 3 inch tails would be a exhaust gas pressure issue .... but seriously come on .. no its not please. its just piping... sound will be noticeable difference vs 2.5 but seriously. All day everyday people are running dumped exhaust, or short and sweet out the side.. leaving short exiting exhaust, meaning way decreased backpressure vs a full exiting exhaust. Having the 3 is fine. Only issue would be the gases cooling down before exiting and causing it have more backpressure for the cool gases needing to be pushed out.. if it happens, and if it does guess what you will never ever know it. haha

No issue doing 3 inch tails, its just exhaust piping.. depending on who installs it will determine if THEY think it will fit safely running 3 inch tails out the back. It will work though! Do it, thats my plans with my 3SI 3SO magnapack in the future

Got it installed yesterday!!!! All I have to say is OMG!! Should have done this from the get go. SOOOO DEEP AND LOUD!! Just what I wanted.

I'm in the process of uploading my old exhaust vids to photobucket but its taking a while. Hopefully if it stops raining today I'll make some new vids of the new muffler!

All I did was change the muffler and keep all of the other piping and I can tell a difference not only the obvious sound, but also a little more throttle response and just a little lower end. I was paying close attention to my drive in to the shop on how the truck drove so as soon as it got done I would be able to see if there was a difference. Going to a chambered muffler to a straight through made a difference for me!!!!

As soon as I get my new vids I will post a new thread.

My wife is excited that I'm finally happy with my setup now.......

Oh I see that now. Well in that case, a video is a mandatory project to get.
