Need help with exhaust???????
hey guys,
my buddy has a 04 f150 5.4L 3valve
I recently just put true dual exhaust on my buddies truck it was 2.25" pipe we cut the y pipe apart and put true dual on and then put a x pipe shortly past where the y pipe use to be. The exhaust was then ran all the way back and exited the truck at 45s with 3.5x18" tips.
I am confused on how quite the truck is, there is no muffler and it is no louder than my old exhaust which the muffler was just cut out.
Did the x pipe really take all the sound away? i was expecting a rap and deep rumble not a truck that had a muffler on it sound..
let me know what you think i should do to make it louder while still keeping perfomance on mind.
thanks

the rear cats arent monitored..just the front ones..you will be fine with running just the front 2 if you decide to remove the rear ones.
if thats not loud enough then replace all 4 with just 2 high flow converters.

I used to have a 2002 F-150 4.6 with 2.25" running pipe with 3.5" by 18" tips. I had true duals and I'll admit no matter where I went it or what I did was always turning heads and it would set off car alarms on occasion. There again I didn't have an x-pipe.
