can someone explain to me the difference in these, besides inlet and outlet diameter. how will the diference in box dimensions effect the sound

The box dimensions are for shipping.. Thats the specifications of the box they put the muffler in . They list that to better help estimate shipping charges because they do not post shipping until you order a muffler directly from them.

 

But what if you leave the box on darren? Will that affect sound?

 

Dude... The first one is an Org. 40, and the second one is a super 40. Two different mufflers here. Go with the first muffler, hands down. Deeper and and all around much better sound Flowmaster!

 

no no no, those are dimensions for the box part of the muffler itself, not the box it ships in. come guys

Yes Flowmaster designed it that way so the cardboard box can cut down on interior drone. They have a 10 mile warranty on it, after that theres a risk of it getting ruined by weather, torn by road debris, or catching fire
