Increasing the rumble?

A few months ago I decided to make the truck roar a bit so I put on a new muffler. I wanted to do the cheapest route possible at the time. My brother inlaw had a guy who does mufflers and they did all the labor for free. So I went to summit and picked up a magnaflow performance muffler and replaced my stock muffler. Got a nice crome slant cut tip welded on and she looks real good. The problem is I was hoping it was going to be louder. It sounds good when you fire it up and its a very clean deep rumble but i was hoping for a bit more. I maybe should have gone with the flowmaster but I went with the magnaflow mainly because I heard they are better on the highway as far as taming down when your doing highways speeds. Which i made a long trip to Texas recently and it was nice and mellow, which was good. But when Im around town I wanna have a little more noise what else can I do (cost effective) to make it a bit louder?

I believe it was this one. I dont have the paperwork with me its at my home in Illinois. But I got it from summit while going through their parts catalog with an associate. This one I believe is the one I got. Not 100% and the outlet and inset may have been different to fit the ford.

MagnaFlow 14376

STRAIGHT PIPES. i'll admit there are some really good sounding mufflers out there, but there is no alternitive at all for a good straight pipe setup. ive had every kinda setup from stock, to flowmasters (current cuz of $$ to redo aint there), and straight pipes. i got friends with dynomax, magnaflow, and straight pipes also. theres really nothin better sound wise (deep deep rumblin like a truck should sound like) as straight pipes. if ya couldnt tell im pretty biased towards rippin out mufflers but theres a reason for the madness

^ There is also a means for making suggestions subject to what the OP is asking... For instance > He said "a bit louder". This does NOT entitle running straight pipes!

OP - You can change the muffler to a round body magnaflow for a little louder setup, and still keep that magnaflow rumble tone.

You should have come on here before you had that installed. The bigger the muffler is, the quieter, and you really got a big one. You can either swap out the oval for a 4" round (aka Magnapack) or swap in some hi-flows, or both.
