Talking 94106 hi-flows are on!

EDIT: FIRST SET OF VIDEOS ARE HERE: https://www.f150online.com/forums/ex...ml#post4077343

Finally got a day off so I decided to go ahead and get my cats installed this morning. Took him about an hour (and $70 of my $$$) and let me tell you....... THIS THING SOUNDS INCREDIBLE!

Now I've got Maggie 94106 hi-flows, 3" intermediate pipe, Maggie 14" body SI/DO muffler, 2 1/2" tailpipes, and 4" x 18" stainless tips. I would definitely say that it made the exhaust much louder outside on acceleration, moderately louder inside on acceleration, and just a hair more noticeable when cruising. I'll get some videos up as soon as it quits raining.

The only problem I have had so far is that it started idling a little rough after I reved it a few times in neutral. I had only drove about 5 miles so I'm hoping that the engine just isn't quite adjusted to the increased exhaust flow. The sensors were installed after the converters (actually in the outlet pipe of the converters) just like others have done. As long as I don't rev it it runs fine. I was hoping that my rear O2's were already turned off with the custom tune but I guess they aren't. Doesn't matter though because it'll probably never do it again after I drive the truck for a few days.

My opinion is that this was WELL WORTH $165 (including the cats) and an hour of my time!

I just had my 94106's installed yesterday too!! All I can say is WOW!! It woke my truck up! The exhaust leak I had is gone and the exhaust volume I have been missing is found!! So now I have the 94106's into a flowmaster 40 sido. Now that I hear the rumble I have I cant deceide if I want to go true dual of some sort or just upgrade the sido I have now with like a 14" sido magnaflow.

Gettin' ready to swap out my MBRP muffler for a Flowmaster 40 SIDO. No welding so I can switch it back if I don't like how it sounds. I just missed my Flowmaster sound.

Post video.

Why would you want to upgrade it? Not satisfied?

Yeah in Texas where I'm from all you really hear is Flowmaster. I loved the sound so I got one too. Have listened to the Magnaflow on here and youtube but its just so hard to tell online. Then moved out here to Cali and have now heard some Magnaflows in person and they sound good. So now I'm stuck, keep the Flowmaster I have cause it does sound great with the new 94106's or try a sido maggie or was even thinking true dual super 44's. This is about as hard as it was trying to find wheels and tires!!

Dillard,

I just noticed that you have a 4.6 '98. My old truck was a 4.6 '99 and I had a SIDO Flowmaster on it. That's why I am switching back. Hope to get something close to that sound again.

You're not inspected in Cali are you?

Well Magnaflow is deeper and cleaner sounding but if you like the tone why change it.

No I'm not ispected in Cali inspected in Texas. My wife has been Temp moved out here to Cali and so here I am. Hope in about 6 months will be back in Texas.

Yeah thats why I'm even thinking about switching to Magnaflow is because of the deep sound. I like/want the clean deep but not so loud unless I really lay on it sound!!

Ok. I was gonna say getting inspected with non OE converters is going to be impossible down there.

Well you could give it a try. My truck sounds very deep, I just wish it had a bit more idle sound to it. These modular motors sound awesome with direct flow mufflers.

My videos are recorded with an HD camera, captures the sound great, if you have good speakers have a listen. My video in sig has nearly every senario captured.

Darren I must say that your exhaust is one that I have always listened to and really loved they way it sounds. Its pretty tame at idle but has some roar when you want it!!

You have 2.5" all the way right? Are your 11" bodies round or oval?
