So you prefer ability to modify over reliability?

i like the 5.4 much better i had a 97 f150 4x4 that got 19 mpg and had much more power im gettin 13 with my 4.6 its got plenty of get up though. but if i was u i would stay away from long tubes on ur truck. 5.4 headers are designed for 5.4s only

Well it's not the engines fault.

The company says it works because it might have worked on one truck, but doesn't on others.

yep buy and see!

my 4.6 has 148k on it and runs perfectly! my dad had a 2003 5.4 that hit 100k and started falling apart!! drove it for 6k more miles and traded it off

Well I think you should contact the company and see if they will give your money back in case they don't fit. I can't remember, but the drivetrain is what determines if it works or not. I think it's 4WD's that don't fit properly.
