Just got my new muffler!! YAYA

Well I finally decided on a 22" magnaflow si/so setup. It's goin on monday so i'm stoked! I'm going to run it out in front of the right rear tire at a slight rear facing angle and a 5" tip. I think it will look sweet and unique which is what i'm after. https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...20-muffler.jpg

Sweet deal! That's the best place to park an exhaust tip. I have two 4" tips coming off a Flowmaster 40 series SI/DO in the same way, angled outward a bit as well.

Thanks! I tried to "mimic" the Lightning. I found out that you can mimic the sound, but not the performance, especially with the 3V 5.4L and a 5700lb 2007 Screw 4x4, lol. But I like it and I wouldn't do any other kind of exhaust setup for a street/dirt truck. Now if this was an offroader, I'd do dumps.

Stock. I thought about going high flow Magnaflows, but I figured if I'm going to do that then I'll go all out custom, long-tube headers, custom "Y" pipe, high flow cat, then two SI/SO Flowmaster 40 Dynas.

Same here, I have other financial obligations and a full exhaust system will have to wait. For now, she sounds loud, mean, obnoxious, just how I like it! She roars at wide open throttle, then comes to a mean grumble when I pay off the accelerator. An aftermarket exhaust muffler is a MUST on any V8.

I thought about shorties, but they change two things. They increase the exhaust note a bit, but they also lose low-end torque. I'd love to get a set of shorties, but every so often I pull some weight in the bed, pull a full load of passengers, or a car behind me. I need as much low-end tq as possible.

Actually, shorties increase low end torque but do nothing for high end power.

x2. The OEM Manifold design restricts power overall, but shorties help with low end, just aren't any better than manifolds at mid to high end.
