Hi-flow cats vs. 2 stock cats

I'm finally getting around to buying the hi-flow cats for my exhaust. My question is, will they be much louder and a better sound than my stock cats? I have an 06 which only has 2 cats instead of the traditional 4. The guy that does my emissions doesn't do the sniffer test, just the OBD II and gas cap test, so that won't be an issue down the road.

Can't speak to the difference between the 4.6 and the 5.4 but my signature shows has clips of before/after high flows.

I'll have to check those out after I get home. Youtube is banned here.

im not to much help either, but i had the 4 stocks on my 2002 and i cut the pre cats off..didnt notice TOO much of a difference because i ran tips out at the same time..then i cut the rears off, leaving me with no cats..then i went to high flows after not having cats at all..im pretty sure you will notice a difference

Oh well, everything was banned at my work for a while. Facebook, Youtube, etc. Anyway, you will notice a definite improvement. Here's what I put on my Hi flow thread:

My estimate for loudness increase:

30% louder on startup and idle
10% louder on cruise
50% louder on acceleration
Music to my ears.

Well good, that sounds promising!

I've also got another question, whick cat it better? The 94106 or the 94006? I checked the prices on performancepeddler, and the 94106 is slightly cheaper than the 94006.

The 94006 is 3" longer so it should be quieter than the 94106. At least that's my understanding of it.

After watching those videos, I came to a decision pretty quick. I just got the 94106's off of perf-ped for $96 and my exhaust guy will install them for $100.

You will surely tell the difference. 4.6 is louder than the 5.4 too so you'll really be able to tell. I guarantee it. Hope you'll be able to put up with the drone though!

I've been able to put up with the current drone this long (so much louder than my old 40).

Hopefully we'll both be able to tell a difference. I just ordered mine as well -- $94.64 w/free shipping.

I put my 94106s on last Thursday and have had more compliments on my exhaust in the past 7 days than I had in the 11 months I had on just the cat back. Make sure to tell your exhaust guys to cut the factory cat off as far forward as possible. Even with that they had to drill into the neck of my hi-flows to mount the O2 sensors.
