I have had h, x and none, and ya it is important even on a stock motor. It even has a substantial sound difference.

They help keep low end scavenging. Basically helps you not lose your low end torque.

i called the first shop back to confirm the problem with the codes. he said the are getting them even when they leave the cats intact. but i dont see this as an issue because i can go an have the computer reset. he also said that they are having a problem with the pipe in front of the cat breaking because it cant support the weight of 2 mufflers. i find this hard to believe, you cant tell me 2 11 inch magnaflows weigh more than the 35 pounds that the stock muffler weighs. i believe i will go with the other shop. he will put in a crossover, he just didnt see the need in it. the pipe he uses is 2.25 instead of 2.5. but i think i can sacrifice a 1/4 inch to get a shop to do what i want. i think the first shop dosen't want to have to put out a whole lot of time and effort to do the job.

Good. 2.25 is exactly what you want on true duals.

The weight is not a problem if he knows how to use hangers, which it sounds like he is an idiot.

x2, I laughed when I read that. That installer just doesn't want to go through all of the trouble cause he cant jack the labor cost up any more. I would walk away and go with the X piped 2.25".

i'm gonna go with the second shop. he is willing to do what i want for cheaper, and he is local. i would have went to him in the first place but had heard he wouldnt do true duals. he'll do what ever i want to it as long as the cats and sensord are left and there is room to run the pipes how i want. the other guy just wanted to do the least amount of work for the most possible money. which still leaves me to decide between flowmaster and magnaflow. i'm likeing both. decisions, decisions. could just have hime weld up one of each. lol

i think i am leaning more toward the magnaflow. i like darrens set up with the 11 inch. i have listened to a few videos of the 14 inch rounds. the ones i found sound pretty good. hard to find ones with good sound quality on youtube. but i have alittle while to decide. would there be a benefit to going with the 14" round over the 11"?
