Plastic inner fenders

I posted this question in the 04-08 forum, but got no response. My header instructions call for removal of the plastic fender liners inside the wheel well. I also have factory fender flares. Do the flares have to come off to remove the inner fender liner?

Just the inners i believe. My XLT does not have flares and I can feel the tiny bolt heads that hold the plastic in, if you cannot, you may need to remove the front flares.

I can see some of what you're talking about, and the ones I can see aren't under the flare. But, I haven't removed the tire to get a better look to determine if all are exposed. I figured someone would have been through this for a header install or manifold/gasket replacement.

PM Joshparton, he just very recently installed the Dynatech kit in his truck which is a Lariat, and they come with flares.

Got the PM

I didn't have to remove the fender flare to remove the inner liner, however to get to one of the tiny screws that hold the linner in on the side next to the door, I had to pop out the plastic push-in screw thingy on the bottom (underside) of the fender flare, then pull it out far enough to access the screw for the liner. I too had a problem with this because that one is sorta hidden.

After that last screw comes out it, the liner should come out with a little forcefull persuasion.

Hope this helps.

Yes it does. I may tackle it this weekend if the rain goes through this evening. Thanks for the response.
