Dynatech header kit just installed - video!

I just finished installing my Dynatech header kit. Pain in the ***.

Here's a video, no muffler or anything but the parts that came with the kit:

Now I need to decide what muffler to go with. I was planning on a Magnaflow SIDO with rear exit (3" in, 2.5" dual out), but now I don't know. I went by a muffler shop today and the guy recommended doing duals. He said I wouldn't notice any low end loss because of the headers, but I thought that there would be still.

wow that sounds mean! put on a Borla Xr1 or a magnaflow magnapack. bullet will be too loud. Batn is running LTS and an XR1 and it sounds meannn. you can put a Y after the muffler and run it dual out the back.

The pipes from the Dynatech kit are 2.5" after the cats, and it y's into a single 2.5". If I used 2.25", I would be stepping down. I haven't seen any x-pipes that have different inlet and outlet sizes, so where would you suggest I step down? Before the x-pipe? And would a quarter inch change it much? Thats my goal - no bottom end loss. I don't care if I have to use a 2.5" in, 3" out y-pipe to a SIDO or a SISO muffler.

I would step down to the 2.25'' right off the Dynatech pipes were you cut out the Y pipe. Then add the 2.25" X pipe as far forward as you can followed by the rest of the set up of your choosing.

How restrictive are the stock manifolds on the 5.4? Your truck sounds great and I bet you picked up some good power!!

you could put a reverse y-pipe in after the dynatech y-pipe, and you would sort of have an x-pipe, and it should maintain enough back pressure so you won't loose that much bottom end if you go "true duals" from there back nomatter the size(unless you go over 2.5). i've never seen it done, but it might work?
