Cheap exhaust option...

I'm mainly just wanting to get a new muffler, and have decided to get a Dynomax Bullet 2.5" in/out. I'm also thinking about getting a Hooker Headers "dual exhaust" tip and using the rear portion of my stock piping to go from the new muffler and exiting in front of the rear wheel lightning style. How do you think this would work? It is the cheapest way I found to get the muffler I wanted with the look that I want. Hopefully I will just be able to have the shop cut my stock muffler off, weld the new one in place, and use the rear section of piping so I do not have to buy anymore.

that will work just fine, but if you upgrade the piping from the Y back to 3", youll get more sound and flow. but 2.5 will work and still sound bada$$. just be prepared for drone when you go out the side.

Having a muffler under cab will send its vibrant sound waves inside. Move it as far under the bed as possible & the drove issue will be solved a little bit.

HAHA your mileage is always going to go down when you put on exhaust. your foot wants to hear it. upgrading to 3" vs 2.5" can squeeze a little more out of it, if anything

headers in some cases yes, cats no. If the headers & cats are combined with the right catback exhaust they work well together to make hardly any loss to a fair improvement.

I gained 1mpg with my 2.5" true duals, truck loves them in 4th gear cruising. Just hates towing uphills.
