Help please!! Straight pipe dual outlet off the Y-pipe drone question

I want to replace my cherry bomb extreme si/do muffler side exit lightning style in front of the passenger rear tire. Would it have more drone inside than it does now if I went with a straight pipe instead of the muffler and y-piped it into dual outlet 45ed or straight out the back. I am also keeping the four factory cats. I want to get it right this time with the look and sound I want.
Yes, I know how loud it will be and yes, I like the sound of straight pipes on this engine with cats. I am just wanting to know about the drone. I have a lot of drone now and hope it will be less due to going out the back instead of lightning style. I remember migdaddy talking about side exit with the bullet vs. out the back on his. I want it loud as @#$% outside and quiet as possible inside with less drone.
Darren, mig, Punisher any info about this? Anybody here have this set up?

my truck has a setup like the one you are looking at switching to

stock cats, stock y-pipe with another y-pipe splitting into duals over the rear axle exiting at 45 degrees on each side of the bed

I love the sound, enough sound to let you know its there at highway speeds, but easily tuned out by average volume of the radio

I say go for it

haha dude you post a new thread once a week. anyway, your gonna get drone if you have it side exit. no way around it. put it out the back 45 like we have said. it will only be about 10% quieter outside, and pretty quiet inside. look into cutting off a set of your cats to get more sound out of it.

It will drone pretty loudly. 45 it behind both rears with no muffler, you'll be happy.

I'm not talking crap or anything but why have a loud exhaust if you don't want to hear it? I have had exhaust on all my trucks and a pretty decenct sound system as well, and I find myself turning down the radio just to hear my pipes roar. Maybe just stick with what you got if you don't want to hear it inside the cab. If other people compliment you on the way it sounds and that seems like you have done a good job on the original setup, and I would say stay with what you got. Hope you find what your looking for, that's just my $.02

Thanks to all that replied but maybe I wasn't clear with how I worded it above. I very well know side exit drones no matter what the set up is. Yes, I want to hear it but not with all the drone I have now! That is why I'm wanting to go out the rear 45 regardless if it is my current muffler, another or none at all. I am going 45 out the rear regardless. My question was how much drone will I get with no muffler out the back 45ed compared to the drone I have now. I am NOT keeping the side exit.
Thanks guys and yes mig I post something like this every other week but slightly different every time but never about a straight pipe. Maybe, one day i can know enough to answer everybody and reply instead of posting and doing the asking. Perhaps I will have 100 post this time next year.

It would be about the same, maybe a little louder with no muffler, since the Cherry Extreme has hardly anything to it at all its about equivalent to straight pipe.

Thanks again Darren. If you ever get banned from this site for some strange reason I will be organizing a petition to get you back. You could come back as DarrenTA. Seriously though, I finally know what I want and what to expect the first time I turn that key at the muffler shop. Thanks everyone who replied. You guys are always helpfull.
