Funny thing!!

so I am still waiting for my roush off road, and much to my surprise my magnaflow cat-back sold the first day I listed it here. Thank you to the site btw!!
So my truck has no exhaust from the cat-s back except the mid pipe. So on a wim I decided to start the truck and see what it sounded like. Much to my surprise it was quieter then with the cat-back on. SO I drove it to work about 10 miles away.
It was not loud at all, no drone, no exhaust smell and I didn't notice any type of performance loss at all, seemed alittle better actually.

so all this time and money worrying about a cat-back and it seems I don't even need a cat-back, lol!!

Anyway can't wait for the roush to arrive, keep waiting and waiting...

Just thought I'd share. BTW my truck is an 05 so 4 cats, who needs a muffler at all, lol!!

Your not the first person to notice this. I have seen some postings of people installing cat-back kits and while everything was un-installed, they started it just to hear it, and were surprized how quiet it was, then come on here asking why and is the cat-back even worth it. Its funny how these 4 cat systems work, they make straights sound fairly decent and low, and are quiet when ripped apart, but still a good loud decent sound with an aftermarket cat-back. I remember my 4 cat days, kept me pretty quiet, removing them rears was the best thing I did, got a tiny bit of torque back and a massive sound gain

sorta what i found out... I just bought the truck, and i assumed since it had a deep sounding exhaust, i had a cat back. after i bought it, i got under the truck to see exactly what kind. come to find out, there is no muffler! i like the sound, dont plan on changing it at all.

Yea I know the four cats is actually cool how it works. I really want to delete my rear cats or go high flows but the thing is I live in ny and every time we go for an inspection they have a grip over something. I just dont have the guts to do it cause I know somehow it will bite me in the azz, lol!! I will think alot more about it when I owe less on my truck it may make me less worried. Plus there is no decent shops around here for exhausts.
