Properly insulate your cab and you could run straight pipes with no drone. (Dynamat, Fatmat, Raamat, etc...)

Besides, what is the point in Having exhaust at all if you are so bent on NOT hearing it?

if you dont want any drone, run a super 44, and then add 3 OEM 32" mufflers after that. youll be good.

People always seem to bring that up, but are afraid to post their 0-60 times. Hmmmmmm.

And on that note, I managed to beat an older Fire Bird this morning on my way to class. Either my trucks fast or that thing was the slowest Fire Bird in GA, hopefully it's not the latter.

or do the super 44 or whatever and then a magnapack, these are used as resonators on some applications that I have seen.

my truck goes 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. im runnning with corvette Zr'1s, Porsche turbos, and Vipers. im not embarrassed to admit my time. my truck is jet pack powered, and has 2 separate nuclear reservoirs under the hood.

haha what makes this thread different from others, is no one has cussed or put anyone down. everyone is giving their honest opinions and recommendations. 4wd150 said he has a 44 with no drone. their ya go.

I'm running true duel super 44s with gutted cats and the drone ain't so bad, but Ill be going on a road trip from Columbia, MO to Hood River, OR on Sep. 2nd. Ill find out just how bad it really is, 28-30 hours, 1,800 miles one way

And heres the chambered vs packed debate yet again..

Well anyways to contribute useful information, drone is 1 meaning, interior volume mass, but it has no level span, why because everybody's tolerances are much different than anyone elses. I for example can handle a Flowmaster on a Ford truck ( especially the super quiet cabs of the '04+ ) but on a Chevy truck not at all, the sound is too much. The chamber design and aluminized case tends to make interior drone which is only in 4th gear at cruising speed. Peoples tolerances are different.

My truck is louder than anyones Super 44 here just about, maybe not T&D and not as loud as 4wd150's idle and low rpm, but I have proven well that my Magnaflow's aren't quiet, and still sound rich and deep, and clear, unlike chambered mufflers, which is my opinion, not an argument starter .

Thumbs up

Bought an 06 about 3 weeks ago that had the 40 series delta flow on it with dual 2.5 inch out and it was annoying. Way to loud and drone on the highway. Hey I'm 59 years old maybe for a young cat it wouldn't be to loud. I went with a Magnaflow the biggest one I could get, it's like 22 inches long I think, and that made a huge difference. Very nice rumble at idle and sounds good at wot and very quiet in the cab at cruising speeds.
