comparing the borla xr-1, dynomax bullet, and a magnapack, there is not much of a difference other than price. all of them are a straight through design. so weighing the price and performance of the three, im still leaning toward the bullet. its very inexpensive and so far i have loved the sound of them. Im not trying to talk bad about borla, i love them! i just dont love the price. thanks for the opinions tho.

the Xr-1 is a mean sounding muffler, but honestly to spend 120 bucks or watever they go for is not me. and the bullet is louder, too!

Loud=good. Drone=bad. I'd rather pay good money for loud borla and have no drone.

if u put the muffler in the right place (under the bed) you dont get much drone unless u stomp on it.

drone... not good! this is the reason i did away with flowmasters, great sound but killer drone. comparing a flowmaster to the bullet (if the bullet is 'in the right place'), which will have more drone. keep in mind i drive a lot on the highway so im very picky about drone. thanks.

i wouldnt go with a bullet then. if your picky about drone, i would not recommend it. look into a magnaflow magnapack (14" round) they look very similar to the bullets, but a little quiter. not much drone with those

Do you think Flowmaster Super 44 will out performe Gibson? I have Gibson with high flows but just dosen't sound deep like Flowmaster mufflers. Any body with super 44?

Depends on if the Gibson is chambered or straight through.

You're not going to notice much of a difference, if at all. Get whatever sounds good to you.

Ok, from what I've been able to find, the Gibson muffler might actually perform less than a 44. The levels of performance differ from their designs.

This one that I know of, and as you can see, it doesn't look very good at all for performance. I also finished watching a video of how they make their mufflers, and they always use baffles, never packing to deaden sound.
