What is the best performing muffler?
this is kinda random but why is it that a straight through muffler will out perform a baffled or chambered muffler like flowmaster or gibson (out perform meaning better low end, mpg, that kinda stuff); but straight pipes kill your low end and gas mileage?? if a straight through design on a muffler makes it flow and perform better, then why do straights seem to make your truck a turd? i have never really understood this.
An engine NEEDS back pressure
Having no muffler=no backpressure=no tq=bad mpgs. no pressure makes ur truck a turd. a muffler of any sort whether its chambered or straight through, creates that back pressure that the engine needs to run optimally.
