got pulled over
got pulled over
this is the third time i got pulled over for exhaust on my truck. this time the cop actually gave me a warning. i got 15 days to get it fixed. i have a 2000 f150 lariat. i have a cat-back exhaust with a y-pipe. i removed the two back cats and replaced them with just pipe. i need to get some type of muffler on there or glasspack in the next 15 days. i love the way my truck sounds now. whats the best thing i can do so i wont get a fine but i wont lose the sound of my truck??? any help greatly appreciated
Dynomax Bullets, wont be raspy or crackly though.
Atleast you aren't getting fined for not having the rear cats, be happy because thats a nation wide fine and it is not cheap.

yes a glasspack is a muffler. actually i don't think anybody makes them now, but my dad and his brothers use to gut glasspacts and throw 2.5in pipe in them with the packing still in there, and it would be as loud as a normal straight pipe but still be look like a muffler, and since they kept the packing in when you tap em to see if they're gutted it would sound like it wasn't.
If you don't want to change anything just bore a hole thru the pipe just behind your exhaust tips, shove in a ball of steel wool just to quiet down to the needed tone, insert a bolt thru the pipe to hold in the steel wool and go get inspected. When you leave and get back on the highway and up to speed if you didn't use to much just shift into netural and give it a couple of revs to blow out the wool and keep on getting down the highway.
