Any Ideas???
Any Ideas???
i have a 95' with an inline 6 and shopping for a cold air intake system however, the problem i'm running into is that there isn't an intake tube included in the kit. So would i have to either get the kit and make my own or is there an aftermarket tube that would fit my truck. Mine truck features without the mass air sensor. Any ideas would be appreciated
your better off insulating the stock air induction system and putting something like a K&N filter in it.
i havent seen anyone use pcv on our trucks yet so it may be better and it may not, but as far as actual intakes the stock is better than any aftermarket for the pre-97 trucks.
this may help a little bit.

Thanks for the advice
do yall know of any cheap mods for more horse power cause i'm riding on bone stock right now? and what do you mean by insulating it? How would you go about doing it? And which would be better; removing the airbox and replacing it with the K&N or S&B FIPK kit and insulating it or just keeping the airbox, replacing with a standard kn replacement filter and insulating? Sorry for the quistions but i'm just a kid with limited resources and money so all ideas accepted.
No offense to the PVC idea and thank you for it but i really don't want to jerry rig my truck

edit: what ring and pinion ratio do you have? just look on the door jam and tell us the axle code if you dont know the ratio.

i am sorry i not too savvy with this. What would the axle code look like? If i looked right i think it might be 3-51F-R10 but I'm not sure(it said calibration right above the number if that's it)

find the white sticker with all the date of manufacture and vin# and what not on it. there will be a little spot where it says axle and it'll have a 2 digit number under it. sometimes it'll have a letter for the first digit. mine says h9 which is a 3.55 gear ratio with limited slip.

yeah sorry i looked and its 12 i looked in the owner's manual and i have a 2.73 gear ratio and it didn't say what the differential was but its most likely a limited slip. What does this info have to do with anything JW?
thats not limited slip. thats an open rear end. i bets its slow as hell with that gear ratio. the best mod you could do is put a 3.55 gear ratio in it. that will make a hell of a difference.
