In the need of some help!

On my 05' 5.4 I have the Edge Evo. on stage 2 and magnaflow exhaust. Now here's the problem: I got smoked by a bone stock 07' Nissan Titan. So needless to say that can't happen again. I've been looking at intakes and am lost on what to go with and if they will really help that much? My Edge has been reading out an intake air temperature in this Missouri heat of between 100 and all the way up to 135 degrees which also kills MPG. Which intake should I go with that would help the most with more HP and torque as well as MPG's?

volant or S&B are good enclosed kits. remember though that titans have 300+ hp. having ur exhaust and edge wont bring u up to 300

Sell the truck and buy a GT500. Or supercharge it if you want a drag vehicle.

you need a custom tune to run a CAI, the Evo programmer is designed for the stock tune.

Bingo

I would send it to PHP to be turned into a gryphon. Search here for some info on it. Loads of reading

The titan has almost the same power we have, their tranny losses less but were still pretty close, I can take my uncles with an exhaust and I have exhaust e-fans and superchip. You rated the titan at the flywheel and the ford at the axel we have 300 at the flywheel and I think they have 315, we have around 230 at the wheels and they will have like 250 at the wheels.

Well first we need to know what size your truck is:
Super crew?
4X4?
3.55 rear end gears?

How big was the Titan?

Depending on how you answer these questions determines how much money you're going to spend.

EDIT: I just checked the weight on the Titans, and they are really light compared to a supercrew F150. Theirs weighs in at 5000 lbs. while the F150 is 5600 lbs.

With his name I just figured he had an FX4. Why anyone wants to make a drag car out of a FX4 is beyond me. I guess I'm just old. I'll just keep my mouth shut. Kids.

dont know what vehicle you have.
i have a 2007 super crew 5.4 4x4 3.73 gears with a 3.5 inch af1, magnaflow siso, 93 octane tune which has been tuned on the dyno and i believe i just hit 251 hp to the wheels and bout 306 tq .
these trucks are heavy, if you want to beat those u need to supercharge.

Thanks for the info guys, I don't want a drag truck (stupid statement) I just want a respectable 4x4. My truck is a 5.4, supercrew, FX4,with 3.55 gears and technically a 34x11.0 in. tire 275/70/18).
I knew the f-150's werent far off as far as horsepower (his is a 5.6 at 317hp) and weight.

Well you have an F-150 so you already have a respectable truck. And I thought the FX4s came with 3.73s?

But if you REALLY want to race, how about you wait 10-20 years when your truck is still on the road and his Titan is being hauled off to the scrapyard. Race the wrecker and call it a day

A respectable 4x4 that can do what? You're truck can do anything and probably more than that Titan can do off road. You were pissed because he beat you in a drag race. So which is it? Drag truck or 4x4?

So you special ordered your FX4 with 3.55s?

Here, just buy this and you can skim the mud you'll be going so fast. You won't need 4 wheel drive and you can still beat your titan owning buddy in a race. https://www.f150online.com/forums/tr...e-f-150-a.html
