4.2L V6 Exhaust?

I own a 2000 F150 4x4 Reg. Cab short box with a 4.2L V6 and manual tranny...I was wondering how it would sound with dual exhaust or just a single pipe? Will it sound pretty good? Any help is appreciated.

It'll sound terrible, just keep it stock.

I ran a 1in 2out to duals and it has a nice rumble to it until you go WoT. Dont try to run true duals and you will be fine.

I remember Darren saying to keep with chambered mufflers and to aviod straight through like maggie gibson, ect. Flowmaster would probably be your best bet or maybe the Flo-Pro as Raptor said which I think is just a Flowmaster knock-off

sometimes your ignorance just fills the screen up.

to the OP, you can have a great sounding exhaust on a V6, but it is very easy to mess up and make it sound less than great.

check my sig, i beleive there is a link in there of my old exhaust setup. i had a flowmaster 50 series SUV muffler SI/SO with a turndown. sounded great but wasn't enough rumble at idle. i have a flowmaster 40 SI/DO with turndowns now, and it sounds great. lots of rumble at idle, very mean sounding. ill make a video soon.

i say go for it, that stock exhuast is too tame.

I have a 2002 F150 V6 4.2L supercrew shortbed I was woundering if I should change the exhaust or leave it stock also what about tips should leave or chang if I change what should I go with? Also I heard straight through pipes were best cause it didnt cause your engine to work as hard to push the gases out any input on that thanks

Such wisdom from so long ago. I wonder if he still feels the same.

Supercrew 4.2L? Umm..... no, you don't. You have either a V6 SuperCAB, or 4.6L Supercrew.

Eitherway, the 4.2L isn't a sound worthy of projecting.

02 f150 6cyl 5 speed i had a single in dual out cherrybomb extreme i though it sounded good, then i ran truedual bullets it sounded better. then i traded the 6 cyl in on a v8 and was blown away by what a real truck sounds like. seriously keep it stock or put a fart can on it.
