How close is too close?

I checked back there after the trip to work and there as no evidence of a tire inferno. 
Looking at it from a top view rather than from under the truck I think I'm going to be OK. Looks like there's more clearance and the heat from the exhaust would not be directly on the tire but blowing down the sidewall. I think it's OK.
I could fab up a shield and clamp it to the pipe, venturi the heat down away from the tire. Wouldn't be too hard.

Just checked the spare tire after the trip home from work. The tire ******* are still in tact, no deformity or anything, no burnt rubber smell, so I'm good.
