man the drone is killing me. i really cant take it anymore. outside it sounds wicked, but when im on the freeway with the windows up goin 70 mph i cant even have a conversation with my girl. ive got 2 options. put it out the back single side with my 3" tip, or install some sound proofing material under the truck right above the muffler. if i put it out the back, will the sound volume be affected much??

Hardly at all, still might drone but not as bad. If the muffler was under the bed and not the cab it would be better.

Thats what I would do, run the pipes straight out the back with 3.5" tips.

Darren, when you take a si/so muffler and add a Y pipe to make it duals, does that hurt sound or effect anything?

Nope. Thats exactly what your running actually, the interiors of Magnaflow SI/DO mufflers are 3" single splitting into dual 2.5"

How come you decide true duals then instead of an 11" si/so with a Y pipe... Would the sound be a huge difference?

I just wanted the true dual rumble, true duals growl better, give a mild pop, sound like straights under WOT, and sound better running down the road at a constant rpm, which a single muffler doesn't do much of. I prefer sound more over the performance, but my high end performance is excellent with the duals.

Ok, I see, that makes sense. It definetely is one sweet sounding truck, that's for sure. I think ford's modular engine trucks sound the best with duals... esp with magnaflow and Roush systems

Thank you. I agree fully with you on that, they have quite a nice sound to them. Only modular V8s can make Magnaflows and Borlas sound so incredible.
