ok.....im under the red gas bar marker.....but im at 405 miles on this tank.....and i still find it extremely hard to stay under 75mph....ive been running 1950rpm at @ 75mph and using cruise control....its better than 379 miles per tank....but i dont think i can get used to driving in the right lane and getting passed by lil ol ladys and hybrids....lol....but i guess the slower i drive the more gas mileage ill get......i guess ill have to start watching my in dash dvd player to pass the time.....thanks for all the input

I haven't checked my highway miles in awhile so I'm not sure how much I would get; mine is pretty much only city driving with the exception of about 80 miles (give or take) of highway each week heading to school. I get about 13-14 mpg with about 80% city driving. With my lift and tires I dont think thats to bad....
Your making progress at least.....

OP - Unless I missed it somewhere, why don't you try figuring out your MPG's instead of miles per tank?
I can run with my fuel light on for a long time and still only put in 22 gallons in my 24 gallon tank.
so if your getting 379 miles and putting in 27 gallons thats 14 mpg's. Fairly typical for these trucks and fairly fast highway driving.
you can't assume your always putting in 30 gallons just cause your tank is that big.
Just set your trip when you fill up and then divide that by what the pump reads after your next fill-up.

And I'm curious.....
Can someone explain how this helps with mileage? Thats something I've never heard before.

We have been through this before. It's seems so simple to do the math to figure out true MPG, but some people still don't, and will never, get it. Just relax. Let them do what they want to do.
You see, math has to do with logic. There are some people who just won't get it. Ever wonder why some of us graduate doing calculus or trigonometry, and others are still stuck with pre-algebra from the 8th grade? Or how about why some people can't balance their checkbooks? What about the ones who can't make change? The world isn't fair. Those who can't make change, work at gas stations, convenience stores, and fast food restaurants: all places that they have to know how to make change! Then we enable them with superior technology: electronic registers that tell them how much change to make!
I had someone say to me, "Your truck is huge, gas must cost you a fortune to fill up." They just weren't satisfied to find out that I pay the same $3.25 per gallon that they do. Nor did they want to hear that with my tonneau cover, intake, exhaust, underdrive pulley, custom tune, & a light foot; I routinely get 1 - 2 MPG above the EPA estimate of 21 - just about what their Honda Pilot gets. The simple logic of my gas tank being 27 gallons, and theirs being only 17 gallons, does not translate to them. Yes, I pay more at the pump, but I'm getting more gas. Does it matter that with 27 gallons, I travel more miles, and fill up less often?
Leave these guys alone. Let them wonder about why everytime they hit a quarter tank on the guage, they put in $40, reset the trip odometer, then only XXX miles when they used to get XXX miles.
Just be glad that these guys are there to work the drive through (spelled DRIV-THRU) window so you don't have to.
