Hey guys I have a 1990 F150 and currently have Flowmaster 40 Series Exhaust. SI/DO. I wanted to make it louder but dont know what to do or what different type of muffler to get. Any help will do. Thanks.

Replace the two cats with a hi-flow converter.

High flow cats. Do not remove them completly. And when you are ready to get rid of the loudness and get the best PERFORMING exhaust for that truck, let me know. We will hook you up.

Ok. What is the best performing exhaust? Is there a good performing exhaust that is also loud?

i bet it would sound pretty damn good. give borla a call and ask them about their mufflers if your unsure. i would recommend it if your looking for sound and performance. or maybe look into a SLP Loudmouth, if you want really loud with good performance

Oh yes, that will most certainly be loud, real raspy though.

In my personal opinion, the best sounding and best performing exhaust for this truck is as follows:

Shorty headers -> Bassani y-pipe with high flow cat -> Muffler of choice ( i prefer Hooker Aerochamber for the SBF 5.0) -> SINGLE Maremont 3" pipe, exiting in stock location.

Loudmouth mufflers sound the way they're named, loud, they aren't very very deep like your Magnaflow, but it will bark well.
