removing cats

i just talked to a local muffler shop and he told me if i cut out my two rear cats and bring them to him hell make me a pipe to fit and give me the clamps to put them on for free. but should i try to weld them on also cause i really dont want any leaks. does anyone have the cats removed with just clamps on them?

I do, and I have leaks, going to get them welded sooner or later. You cant really hear it but I can hear them and i've crawled under to feel them.

If you dont need to pass emissions, definitely go for it. If you do have emissions, it will be a sniffer and visual fail.

The passenger bank on mine was a pain in the effin A to get in since the strength of the exhaust is difficult to move. We did it without having to undo any hangers though. The drivers side was a breeze since it bends over to the right, my friend did it before I was able to crawl under
