Help!!!!

Ok. I've been researching what type of exhaust to put on my truck for some time now..'08KR 5.4. Finally have some play money(about $300) thinking of going with flowmaster super 44 3" si/so, magnaflow y pipe, 3.5" tip all about 150+shipping off summit. I guess my question is will it sound ok or should i go with duals(not true duals). Is there any gain in sound with duals or is it mostly looks. Thanks.

Great choices. You will be happy. The sound difference is very minimal. Dual tailpipes are a hint louder but not by too much. Its all about preference.

i have a SI/SO super 44 with a 3" SS tip on the way from Jegs as we speak. ive asked a lot of ppl and watched videos on youtube etc. to find out how this sounds and the diference between dual out and single out. the difference (besides the look) is small. i predict this to be a badass setup and i think we will both be very happy with our decison.

Hey Darren. I was doing some more reading and came up with some other questions. Will 3" piping be to big? What do i stand to lose if i go with 3" or should i just bring it down to 2.5"? And, will pipe size effect sound? Sorry for the lame questions i just want to get it right. Thanks.

Not with a single exhaust, your doing a great thing for it by running a 3" single. Run 3" from the Y to a 3" inlet muffler is one of the best setups because it frees up flow without any restrictions. The main restriction is the factory Y pipe, its dual 2.5" going into a single 2.5" exhaust, thats restriction. Chop the Y in half and run 3" from it or get a Magnaflow Y pipe connector thats dual 2.5" in 3" single out and you will be set. And the 3" will sound better too.
