California Hi-Flows?

Hey guys,

I have been searching here about exhaust systems and trying to figure out what exactly I want. I would like to go with hi-flow cats and looked into the magnaflow ones but they do not have any listed under the california section.

Are there any california legal hi-flows?

I would like to couple it with a flowmaster Super 44 when it comes out in stainless. My Birth-day is in June so I am hoping to get this I can wait a couple months....

No, it's illegal to modify your emissions system in California. If you could do the work and install the cats yourself you may be able to get away with it, but I doubt you could find a shop that would swap your cats.

Ive been through this. Tried forever to find a solution, no luck. No high flows are legal for the F150 yet. In fact, nothing but stock cats is legal. You can cut them out and risk a fat fine, but thats up to you.

As stated, no aftermarket cats allowed in California.

Go out of state and get your exhaust done. I doubt the inspection guy can tell the difference from a hi flow cat and an OEM one.

Well getting them installed is not the big deal. If you are caught with aftermarket hi-flow cats in California you are going to be hit with a $10,000 fine. OEM cats and aftermarket hi-flow cats look very different and emissions center guys aren't so stupid anymore, they know alot of OEM cats and if they are questioned they will look it up in a book to see if it matches OEM specs.

Well in that case it sounds like the OP just needs to move out of California.

believe me I am tempted... we just got hit with a state sales tax increase and a 70% increase in vehicle registration fees....
