Edelbrock shorties?

Is anybody running Edelbrock shorties/heard anything about them? I'm in the market for shorties and looking at Pacesetters and the Edelbrocks. I'd prefer the Pacesetters but they are backordered until who knows when, and the Edelbrocks are basically the same price. I haven't heard much about Edelbrock exhaust parts, are they any good or would I be smarter to wait for the Pacesetters? Thanks.

Shorty headers are a waste of money. Long tubes or nothing at all.

They aren't talked about so much but if they're stainless then you should be good.

According to the Summit website they're Ti-Tech ceramic coated? Will that work or do I need a stainless set? (the Pacesetters are also ceramic coated) Thanks Darren.

Ceramic coating is fine. The reason for long tubes over shorties is the fact that shorties give NO POWER GAINS, regardless of however corrosion resistant the material used is.

Believe me I would love to throw LT's and Maggies on it and get the extra power but I'm really only after a repair. I know LT's aren't that much more than shorties cost-wise but when the Maggies (mandatory due to my lovely NYS inspection) are added in, and anything else I may be forgetting, it adds up to $$ that I could be putting into my Trans Am, which is my real toy. And being a new homeowner I am limited to 1 toy (at least for now ).

I agree with you 100% on the zero power gain of shorties though.

Nothing at all wrong with doing OEM equipment replacement. A person would have to be real messed up to replace stock manifolds with a new set of stock manifolds, definitely atleast step it up to shorties.

Thanks guys, I'm ordering the Edelbrocks tonight. I found out they're actually ceramic coated stainless steel, so I got both. Thanks again.
