my old 98 was also running 2 cats, i cut out 2 of them, ran stock tubing to the rear axel then y-pipe out the back with the same size tips. and it is louder. my roomate bought my 98 if i get a video camera, i will post vids of them both.

[QUOTE=DarrenWS6;3620500]Not your entire warranty, only anything exhaust related.

well ok. but would changing the cats void the engine warrenty as well?

there is a guy in my town with a 07 f-150 5.4L with long tube headers, high flow cats and straight dual pipes out the rear. It's pretty damn loud. In town its awesome but he said on the freeway/long trips, it gets old. He originally took the cats off(Arkansas has no vehicle inspection) but it was just too loud so he got those high flow cats.

Which cats did you cut the front ones or the back ones?

That's why it is so loud, you are effectively running without cats. In the 97-03 body the back cats are the actually cats that do almost all the work, the front ones are just pre cats.

well alright. but i listend to your video and my truck is not as loud as that. u do have ur exhaust out in front of the tire, mines behind the wheels. and mine once the engine rpm is over 2700ish, its all engine noise and i cant even hear the exhaust. are the cats on the 08s more sound restrictive than the older ones?

I guess the cats could be different, but I doubt it. What size pipe did you run and what size tips?

No it shouldn't. You just will not be able to have anything exhaust related fixed. For assurance, go visit/call your dealership and ask them if putting hi-flow cats would void your warranty entirely, or just for exhaust. If just exhaust, then do as you wish with your cats, hi-flow replacements, or deleting of some. Just dont tell them you wanna run no cats.

The only differences in our setup is mine is 2.5" throughout and the exit location. I don't know man, the 1/4" size difference will make a little difference and my exhaust being shorter will make a little but it shouldn't be a lot.
