Summit Racing Mufflers?

I've got a 99 f150 5.4 with a flowmaster that was in it when i bought it. single center in 2 out. I'm looking for a replacement. I heard from one guy that the summit brand mufflers are good and worth it since they're about $40. Anybody have any input about these? or another muffler that will give me a better sound.

They aren't really well toned in my opinion, they make it sound like a muscle car. I prefer Magnaflow.

Is it worth just replacing from a flowmaster?

I wouldn't say so, that Flowmaster will sound better than the Summit muffler. Why exactly are you looking for a replacement? Is it rusting out? Or too loud?

The flowmaster on there now rattles quite a bit now. Sitting at a light, reverse and such. WHen i get under there and push on the middle it stops. And its looking a lil rusty. I want something similar. I also heard that flowmaster restricts air more than other company's.

I would look into a cherrybomb muffler, not the glasspack.

What do you want out of your muffler? Sound/tone?

Dynomax race bullet. Same price, MUCH better muffler. Look it up, you'll love it if you try it.
