40 series Someone told me it adds like 15 HP, is that a fact or is it less?

Si/so? Si/do? Di/do? Flowmaster=Slowmaster, or Flowbastard, or Slowbastard. It loses power haha. It loses low end torque, moves any gains up in the RPM band. Someone, lied.

Wait til it gets broken in. You'll want it louder though

Not a fact at all...

If any exhaust would gain power, Flowmaster certainly wouldn't be it due to their mis-guided chamber design with flow restricting plates, but they sure sound cool, thats all they do . Either way, i'm sure it sounds good. Congrats.

Chambered mufflers contain no rock wool packing, therefore, they dont "break in". And there is no such thing as a DI/DO 40 series, but they offer the Super 40 in a DI/DO.

I put 40 series on my Avalanche just replaced the stock muffler left the OEM piping. It sounded damn good! I though it wouldnt be much but that 40 really did some magic on that motor. Now I have heard a few F150s around town with flowmasters I personally dont prefer them, they are insanely racey and deep on a Ford. But in your favor if I was to put a flowmaster on my truck the 40 would be what I would use.

more like deletes horsepower...but they sure sound sweet.

I liked my flowmaster super44 when i first got it. Then the droning gave me headaches, and the loss of torque really sucked when climbing at elevation.

Switched to Borla and will NEVER go back. The perfect combination of sound, performance, and durability.

Thats what I like about GM trucks, they aren't restricted in exhaust and flow out really well. Silverado/Sierra/Avalanche/Escalade cats flow very highly for OEM cats which really helps aid in that sweet sound. I remember when I got the Super 44s installed on my old 6.0L 2500HD, I still remember the feeling of the vibration on the pavement from the start up
