S&B Intake Installed..Lots of Pictures...Thanks ModBargains!

I ordered this S&B intake late last week and got it early this afternoon and have to say I am very impressed. I have installed various intakes on cars from all over the place including other trucks, 1000+ hp cars, everything down to a Grand Prix too. This is by far the best put together one I've seen. Everything fits PERFECTLY, everything labeled just right, everything bagged separately, nicely colored instructions walking you through the entire process, not to mention how good it looks in the engine bay

A big thank you to ModBargains. They got it to me faster than expected and made it a very easy buying experience. Oh and don't worry the truck has already been tuned for the intake.

Tomorrow I'll be getting the Roush OffRoad exhaust and Xenon Link HID's in the heads and fogs installed

Here's what you get in the box neatly and perfectly packed

Stock airbox and intake assembly off the truck

Engine bay with no intake on it. MAN that thing takes up a lot of space in there. It cleared up all KINDS of room

Airbox installed and secured tightly

Air filter and adapter installed in the airbox

Intake almost installed. Just need the plexiglass and some of the electrical bolted up

And finally two pictures of it all bolted up. All nice and pretty in there now. MUCH cleaner than before. I only drove it around the block but I already enjoy the new sound and we'll see how things change later on.

Yeah that is the stock 5.4 airbox. Ridiculous to say the very least. I know it serves its purpose and function, but damn it takes up a lot of space.

My dad has a very similar intake on his 07 Tundra and his is definitely louder. His sounds like an exhaust up there. The DOHC makes all kinds of noise up there. This makes a very similar noise, but more subtle so far.

So far its just been richened up a bit via a friends tuner to allow for the intake. After I get the Roush on there tomorrow, I will be ordering the Gryphon and getting it really tuned right.

Got it for the $269 that pretty much everybody charges from ModBargains. They had free shipping and that was just about the cheapest I could find, plus they are a reputable business recognized here, so I figured why not

It always amazes me to see how huge the OEM intake is when un-installed. Great install man. Hope you dont run that too long with a stock tune before you run lean.

Not on the stock tune now. I had a friend get in there with HP Tuners and richen it up for me. It's ok until the Gryphon shows up.

Awesome man. I see some A/T KOs laying on the floor there. Shame to see them lay there, they can go on my truck!

MDK sending you an email now. Happy to send it to you!

Darren, they have about 60% tread left. I just replaced them because the front ones were worn to nothing and went to ProComp Xtreme MT's. I'd be happy to ship em to you if you wanted to make me an offer

I'm liking the looks of the S&B. How necessary is it to tune the truck to run one of these?

Pretty important. The truck isn't use to getting that much air into it. The computer will adjust itself and run lean and that's not good for anyone involved.
