4.2L exhaust

hey yall i got a 2002 4.2L and right now i got cat-back straight pipes and i was wonderin if i gutted the cats would it make it much louder? would it sound like one of them ricer cars? it has 4 cats on it

It will louden it up quite a bit. Since its a V6 you already have a ricer sound so itas your choice.

Don't gut all 4 cats! Instead, only remove the rear cats, or replace the 4 of them with 2 hi-flow cats. And get rid of the straight pipes. They don't sound good on our trucks. Trust me, my cousin has them, and it sounds good until you push the gas.

Instead go for a single exit magnaflow or flowmaster, or a single in/dual out maganflow or flowmaster.

everyone around here thinks my truck sounds good with the straight pipes shuts up a lot of the v8s. if i were to remove the rear cat will it throw a cel?
