Which Flowmaster?

I have a 2004 Ford 150 Heritage. I've been told it's a V6(I'm a truck NOOB). Under the hood it says 4.6/5.4L, once again truck noob.

I'm getting some flowmasters put on and I want it to sound nice and deep, and was wondering which flowmaster that will achieve that sound. Or is it possible with a V6.

Also is there anyway I could get black tips?

Thanks for any help.

Under the hood it says 4.6/5.4L

Well, if it is either of those, shouldn't it be a V8?

Nope, uncle just come over and checked for me. Apparently I was reading what belt sizes fit my truck.

4.2L which means it's a V6. Dang.

Would that still sound good with flowmasters?

Well, finding that out has made me think a little.

I don't know if it's going to make that much of a difference, especially if I'm going to drop $350 for it.

I've checked out a couple youtube clips, but I'm still not sold on it.

It's awesome. Worth every penny lol, but if it's not worth it to you. Then don't

Yeah, I realize now that it's only a V6 and will only go so loud. I've been researching more and heard some good sounding trucks.

So do you recommend the Super44's or one of the 50 serious? Duals or straight pipe?

No offense, but V6s with exhaust sound horrible and pathetic. The 4.2L sounds horrible all in all, a ricer in disguise.

If you look on your throttle body cover ontop of the engine it should say the liter code on it, if not check the air induction, if not there check the hazard stickers ontop of the hood jam, it has to say it somewhere there.

If that all fails, open your manual and find the VIN de-coder, and it will tell you what the engine letter code in the VIN is helping you identify it.

It's a 4.2L DarrenWS6.

I heard a 4.2L V6 with some Super 44's on it today and it didn't sound ricey at all. It had singles inlets to dual outlets with glasspacks in it.

My local shop would do everything for 280, but I'm still looking for all black tips.

Anybody know where I could get those?

I've searched all over and a guy from Meineke or w/e said he could get some $67 a piece. I'd do it if I was getting a single outlet, but duals will be a little too much right now.

Another thing, Should I remove the cats or leave them be? And should I get glasspacks or no? Not sure on if they're more money.
