Lightbulb New 2008

i just got a new f150 for xmas and i want to put either magnaflow or flowmaster under it, my question is i should only have to put on a new muffler, the truck only has 400 miles on it and the exhaust is pretty new so the piping and all of that should be good. i just need an answer before i go spending 400.00+ on a new exhaust when i can just spend 150.00 for the muffler and possibly the cat too?

are you looking for dual or single exhaust? what motor do you have? it is cheaper to buy a muffler and tip(s) and having a shop make the pipe(s) than buying a whole catback system.

I gotta say, I kinda like the sound of my 2008, to me it seems louder than a "normal" truck, maybe I imagining that but there is another thread talking about 08's being some what louder than past years, weather its true or not I dunno.

Yes you can. That would be the cheapest way to go.

Single in.out Magnaflow 14" then.

You will need a off set on both ends muffler for simplest direct fit. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I have to agree - my 2008 sounds louder stock than my 2004 did stock.

Maybe it's something new but when you start it up and are getting up to speed you can hear the sound pretty good.

Precisely. 4 restrictive cats broken down to two decent flowing pre-cats but heavy and blocking rear cats, going to a 32" muffler, very quiet. The newer better flowing cat design with a slightly smaller muffler did quite nice.

My first exhaust upgrade was to purchase a 14" Magnaflow Muffler. I just replaced the stock muffler, didn't even run new tips. Loved it only changed because I was ready for true duals You'll like it I'm certain.

Ordered all my Magnaflow parts from www.performancepeddler.com they have some great prices and usually offer free shipping! I ordered some replacement parts Monday, they'll be here today.
