TruckStaxx on F150 Gas Engine Project!
why would he listen to anyone on here? 23 pages of people telling him how stupid his idea was haha and we see the result
I just got under there with my DeWalt SawZall and had at it.

I then bolted up the old exhaust. No biggie...
Shouldn't have taken them off man!
I just found this thread today, read through all 24 pages, and this is the worst possible ending. I hate the stacks.... but mad respect for doing it, and I like the idea... they just aren't gonna touch my truck. But after 24 pages of crap, and stickin to your guns, you give up because of a ride height problem......................................

Fixed it.
Sorry to hear that they are gone - are you thinking of selling your truck? Otherwise I can't believe that you didn't fix the problem rather than just upping and getting rid of them.

:o
No... it's stupid for me to sell this thing. No one's gonna buy it.
Listen, I can get a 2000 F150 7700 series 5.4l v8 4x4 automatic for $2,500... I'd be lucky to get a scrap metal place to cart my '07 away. -- And even then, they would harass me.
Yeah... the $2,000 way.

I hate to dig this thread up... but there were a number of people at work that thought my truck was sick with staxx.
The reason I took them off was because stupid me wanted to run it with solid piping. Bad idea. NEVER ever do this!
Why?
It's makes an obnoxious rattling noise, can affect the headers, and lastly, it doesn't allow for flex.
This time around I'm doing it myself since I already have all the parts. I ordered 2.5" flex tubing made of T-304 anti-magnetic steel which is guaranteed to be salt-proof.
The staxx and the muffler just need to be rehung, and all I need to do is attach the flex tubing and I'm good to go.
I know a lot of you thought I was nuts... but I got some head turning looks. Most thought it was the best because the stacks weren't higher than the cab, and I was running a muffler. Basically a modest type of stack mod.
It sounded great despite the rattling because of my solid pipes. I'm actually looking forward to it again.
It's only a teaser for what's to come... don't expect me to do this one until the weather gets a little nicer out when I can do it in my drive way and not in my garage. I want to do a good job on this one. At least I ordered the flex tubing -- which is a start.

I did feel somewhat special... but what made it more special was the fact that it is quite unique.
It actually sounded better than running pipes out the side... probably because the staxx amplified the sound. Plus using a 50 series, it really sounded great.
I'm wondering if I'm going to lose much sound with the flex tubing... I guess we shall find out.
