Magnaflow drain hole

I have two magnaflow 4" round mufflers on my truck, and they are goin through their first winter so I've been thinkin about moisture pooling up in them. Even though they are stainless, would it be a good idea to drill a 1/16" hole near the back of the case (or front because of the way truck sits when parked?) just to let them drain?

My 3.5" tips have a little pin hole at the back of it on the underside. They are rolled tips so there is little lip on the inside that would hold water in them so my guess is its a good idea too drill them if you have rolled tips. If there just slash cuts id say there fine.

ive never heard of anyone having problems with moisture. the heat from your truck should evaporate any moisture in them. dont go drilling holes in them

You are aware that when the engine is running the pressure of the exhaust blows all moisture out, cutting a hole into your muffler would be real..... not normal i'll say. Your cats get moisture inside too but you cant cut a hole in them. Its SS so have no worries.

if you cut holes in your muffler it would be like having an exhaust leak, and you exhaust would not sound the same and would not sound good at all...My buddy some how got a little hole in his muffler and it sounded like absolute ****. He ended up having to go get it welded closed.

If you drill a hole in the mufflers its will VOID the warranty on the mufflers. I wouldnt do it. Like everyone else has stated once you run the truck it will blow out the water at the end of the tailpipe and we do have holes drilled in the tips to allow the water to escape.

Good to know... My exhaust shop drilled holes in the last mufflers I had (not magnaflows), and another recommended I do the same on these, but I figured I shouldn't because they are SS (and the fact most moisture will blow out).

Thanks guys, I won't touch em'.

BTW: Its great to see reps like Troyer and Magnaflow on the site. Really shows those companies who watch out for what the customers want, and are willing to take the time to answer any questions their customers may have when on a forum like this. Big plus for these guys!
