Im gonna get shot for asking this...

Has anyone who has been running a Maggie- actually switched it out to try a Flowmaster? What did you think?

I am interested in trying one to hear how it sounds on my truck and to see if there really is lost power.

I like the tone of my Maggie right now, but if it were a little bit louder....

If you just want it louder with the same sound then switch to a shorter boddied maggie or go to a super 44 or 50 suv series flowmaster

I am running a 50 series flowmaster and it's wife and neighbor friendly while still producing a nice rumble (with a tune it had no drone in the cab and I have side exits)

hit up you tube and check for the sound clips

In spring, I am going to pull my 11" bodies out for Super 44s, gonna give them a month or so and get some videos, see if I like it. If so, then i'll keep them, if not, i'll clamp/weld my Magnaflows back in. None the less i'll be able to swap muffler in & out at my leasure probably if I get special bolts and good band clamps.

Also gonna try straight piped a little bit since the mufflers will be out

My friend is going to sand blast the Super 44s I have, and paint them so they are safe from the winter salt ( only reason i'm not doing it now, that and I have no building to work in currently )

A little, my friend helped convince me into it, so we will try it in spring. The best part about Flowmaster is the low rpm and idle, which is what Magnaflow lacks at. If only a muffler could sound like Flowmaster at idle, and 1500rpm, and Magnaflow at 1600 - redline, and give the great mpog and torque results as Magnaflow

So when are you gonna start designing your own muffler? I'll help you test them.

That would be awesome if I could and had that kind of skill. Mak them electric like cut-outs, one switch makes them chambered and baffled, next switch they're straight though lol

Well hey I never said I would remove the tips! I love them those are never leaving the truck. I'm just experimenting around a little, can we still be buddies?

Yeah true, i'm leaning more towards sound now a days, I love the open flow of my exhaust, but man I miss hearing that sweet idle of my old truck...
