DO i have true duals?

I have the stock cats on the truck, after the cats are just to srtaight pipes that run under the truck. i have no muffler. and the pipes turn down infront of the axle.

I would like it to be louder, what can i do to make it louder.

sooo you have 2 seperate pipes running under your truck if so thats true duals. and you want it louder?? if so then take the 4 cats off and replace them with 94106 magnaflow hi flow converters. even louder? just cut the 4 cats off run longtube headers and run straight headers

 

I want it to sound nice too. I have heard that you can take 2 cats off is that true?

 

Dual pipes is true duals.

Yes you can, many people do that such as myself, much more affordable than hi-flow converters.

 

Darren did you notice a big difference with the 2nd set of cats gone? Any difference in sound?

I took off my rear cats, and put on mufflers so sound wise I couldnt say if it changed any. Power wise it wasnt noticeable, but true dual with no mufflers was to loud for me after a while.

 

Damn right theres a sound difference! Noticed it instantly, much louder, sounds as good as the Chevys do now. Economy increased 0.1mpg.
