dynatech headers!?

I have a 2004 F150 5.4 4x4 crew "new body style" and have decided to go with dynatech longtube headers and the Y pipe with the high flow cats. I wanted to know if anyone had any issues with the instal and how they like them performance wise. I have a k&n CAI magnaflow cat back and gryphon being custom tuned. I think I am going to buy them from troyer at 1395 for everything including the o2 extensions. I saw them on rpm outlet for 1344 but have heard alot of bad things about them. If anyone knows where I can get them cheaper with out getting shorted for parts it would be greatly appreciated.

Have the shop later on chop the Y pipe and run true duals and it will run & sound good.

x2 on that if you do long tube headers, or even shortys, theres no reason not to have true duals

you could try autoanything they will match the price i had to get mine from dynatech themselves because noone had them at the time. the best headers out there in my personal opinion. and yeah cut out the y and run dual exhaust. i have a magnaflow dual in dual out with magnaflow x right before the muffler sounds great and no drone. just a beauitful whine when i get on it from time to time lol

Since short length headers dont really increase the flow path of the exhaust I dont really see true duals neccessary as I would for longtubes, they're equivalent with our OEM manifolds. Longtubes I would not Y pipe because the heat and strong un-restricted exhaust pressure flow Y jointed would restrict the flow and pressure of the exhaust, if it had to flow a whole 4.5' average into a muffler.

Not sure I totally agree with the removal of the "Y" section. As we all know the "Y" helps to equalize the two sides and thats a good thing. Plus the design of the "Y" on these pipes is awesome and totally non-restrictive.

Dynatech sell this kit without the Y pipe. The two pipes from the cats are paralleled next to each other on the passenger side.

The headers were hell to install it took me roughly 30 hours and my knuckles are beat up pretty bad. Sounds pretty bad *** though.
