Making my own! maybe...

well i grabbed some 4" round SS pipe, i think if i can find some packing i could use some old grape screens from work to hold the packing in place.

i was thinking of making the mufflers 4" x 10" and completely food grade SS , high polish like the 304 stainless.

where can i locate some packing? mesh would be cool too.

because i want it short, 4" round, and stainless. i cant find anything stainless shorter than 14" :P

my problem is i dont know what length i really want, i have the OBX resonators, so if i make em 6-10" that will be loud lol

ok tomorrow i'll try to take a pic of the grape screen lol.

question is now regarding the packing itselfs. i can get 1/4" thick fiberglass matt on ebay, if i wrap it twice i should easily slide into the 4" pipe. but im not sure what 1/2" of wrap is going to sound like?

What were you going to pack in it originally?

i was going to look for a fiberglass packing, it dampens the volume a bit more than other fillers. now im just considering steel wool since i have some on hand, but will purchase a reel of stainless steel wool if the regular steel wool will disappear on me.
