I like tips, I just dont like when you can see the pipe preceding them. It looks tacky to me when you can see them that way. In my case I have dual side exit on the passenger side in front of the rear wheel. I had the shop remove the tips because you could see where they joined onto the exhaust pipe. It looked cheezy in my opinion. Not sure if explained myself well
Now I have no tips.

Darren, your tips look great, I dont believe you can see the pipe behind them unless you crawl under the truck

I see what you mean, and I agree. My Chevy truck had 4x12 Magnaflow tips angled like my F150's tips, and you did see the bare pipe and weld, after winter ended when the salt had surface rusted and destroyed the bare pipe, and the exhaust tips still shiny looking, it did look very tacky. The F150 barely shows it, but the pipe is still nice and clean since winter hasn't arrived yet. But I'll end up painting the pipes if it does this. I'm a sucker for nice exhaust tips on a truck, as long as they are the right length it will look alright. And since my truck is somewhat high, I have no worries about backing up with them. And thank you Les

To OP (mike),
Go with the round tips-they look better IMO. You definetley dont want to dump the exhaust living up north...only asking for problems (excellerated underbody rust, etc...). Asthetically, added tips just add a finished touch to the exhaust sytem
