no cats = future damage?

yea i hate to say this, but that guy sounds like a idiot, there needs to be more of my guys in the world!!! he knows EVERYTHING and no if you just remove the precats it will not throw a code cuz i did that to mine no code

And they are your cats, not his, he can't charge you a core for your parts if he is just replacing them with pipe.

you can do anything you want after the downstream O2 sensor without throwing a CEL.

yeahh i dont think im gonna be going back to that shop

i think the bloodlines around here get a little too close sometimes if you know what i mean haha

and just to double check the precats are the 1st set of cats that you come to out of the manifolds correct?

Yes they are about half the size of the rears.

so i DO NOT want to remove the precats

and i DO want to remove the 2nd set of cats (which are larger than the 1st set)

You can do either, just the pre cats will be louder than the rears and it is alot easier to weld in pipe for the rears than to do it for the pre-cats. I left the pre-cats and cut the rears.

mine never did..and the 2 maggie hi flows havend set a code yet either...so you should be ok

As long as it has cats, pre-cats or rears, it will be alright. But cut the rears!
