Looks like a copy of the Flowmaster 10 series muffler...the single chamber race one.

 

Ok well if i went to my local store, Discount Tire and Muffler, What would I tell them i wanted?

Sorry for being such a noob, but does straight mean all the cats are cut off? How much did your set-up cost? And How much would true dual dynomax race bullets cost? with an x or h pipe which ever is louder?

 

Dual bullets would cost you $80 for the bullets ( $40 each ) about $200 for a dual system fabbed and installed, $40 for a shop made H or X pipe, $70 for the Magnaflow stainless X pipe.

Man that does sound awesome. Better than the Flowmaster 10 series, kind of like a single chamber original 40 series ( does not exist, just saying it could be one ). 1 chamber 1 baffle. Fuggin nice!

 

No problem, everyone has to start learning somewhere. Straights means no mufflers, it has nothing to do with the cats. Depending on when in 05 your truck was built it will either have 2 or 4 cats, early months in the 05 model have 4, later they switched to just 2. Mine only came with 2, the easy way to check is just to crawl under and count them, they will be little canisters after the manifolds. If yours only has 2 then it will sound just like mine if you run the same setup I did, if it has 4 then it will be a little quieter. My shop charged me 250 if I remember correctly to bend two pipes, build an x-pipe and for 2 3.5" tips. If you click "view album" on my photobucket page there are more vids of my truck. Would gettin' the magnaflow stainless x-pipe make it sound any different?

 

For my setup you would tell them you want, True dual 2.5" straights with an x-pipe exiting lightning style with 3.5" tips.

 

No it will sound the same, if you get the exhaust made from stainless it will last longer. This doesn't really matter that much unless you live in an area where they use salt on the roads a lot. My last truck had regular steel exhaust on it and it is still holding up fine after 9 years.

 

Birddog love your sound. I'll probably look into getting either that or the bullets, idk yet. My first choice was catbacked but now I just don't know. Thanks for the help. The few days I have been on here I have learned alot. Hell, I didn't even know you could re-gear a truck! Lol : D

 

Thanks for the compliment, and the nice thing about this site is the help is FREE. I think you will be pleased with either setup, if I put long tube headers on I may go with some Bullets to quiet it down a little.

 

The help & info is free, the knowledge is not, once you learn more & more you want more & more, therefor you spending alot of $$$ on the truck

Yeah it is going to cost about $7000 + labor for everything I want done to my truck. Lol
