Cat Questions

I live in Georgia where there are no emission laws. I drive a 07 FX4. Being that I want to remove my cats all together. I want to know if I do if it will throw off my computer system and if i need to replace them with X pipes or what I need to do.

If you remove them completely you should throw a CEL. That will drive you crazy on a new truck. Just throw on some hiflows, they will keep the CEL off. If they did remove them they would probaly just weld pipe where they use to be.

Hi-Flow cats will do that. Part # 94306 will work proper for your cat replacement.

I have an 04 and I was wondering if that's the same part number that I would need for my cats? How would I go about doing it? I am pretty sure since my truck is an 04 that I have 4 cats versus the newer trucks with only 2...Do I order 4 high flows or do I just stay with two? Which stock ones do I replace with the high flows? Thanks.

Carl

edit: I see now that the cat you listed is a magnaflow. Will that cat work with a Roush Off-Road system or do I have go with the Magnaflow system?

Just order two. I'm going to order those sometime soon. They will go a little bit after the downpipe bends down and straightens out ( after pre-cat ). The O2 sensors need to remain in the same locations, the hi-flow cats will just sit in between where the old rear & front cats sat. Not supposed to set of a CEL, thats my only concern. Troyer Performance says they will work correctly on any 1997+.

So I am removing all four cats only replacing two with the high flows?

And how will the Magnaflow cats work with a Roush system? Or do I need to do an all Magnaflow system?

It will be fine. You don't have to have an exhaust system all made by the same company. lol

I have Kooks headers,,Bassani high flow cats,,Magnaflow X pipe and Flowmaster mufflers.

When you get them done make sure you ask for the old cats back. You may be able to get some $$$ for them from a scrap metal dealer. On the older cars/trucks you can get some good $$$ on the newer ones prolly not as much since they use different materials now to do the same job. I got $200 for my 11yr old cats.

Correct.

The two hi-flows will fit in between there the original two cats were.
